LIFETIME LIMITED WARRANTY

The Hunter Douglas Lifetime Guarantee is an expression of our desire to provide a thoroughly satisfying experience when selecting, purchasing and living with your window fashion products. If you are not thoroughly satisfied, simply contact Hunter Douglas Inc. at 1-800-789-0331 or contact us with an email. In support of this policy of consumer satisfaction, we offer our Lifetime Limited Warranty, applicable for U.S. customers only, as described below.

COVERED (BY A LIFETIME LIMITED WARRANTY)

  • Hunter Douglas window fashion products are covered for defects in materials, workmanship or failure to operate for as long as the original retail purchaser owns the product (unless shorter periods are provided below)
  • All internal mechanisms.
  • Components and brackets.
  • Fabric delamination
  • Operational cords for a full 7 years from the date of purchase.
  • Repairs and/or replacements will be made with like or similar parts or products.
  • Hunter Douglas motorization components are covered for 5 years from the date of purchase

NOT COVERED (BY A LIFETIME LIMITED WARRANTY)

  • Any conditions caused by normal wear and tear.
  • Abuse, accidents, misuse or alterations to the product.
  • Exposure to the elements (sun damage, wind, water/ moisture) and discoloration or fading over time.
  • Failure to follow our instructions with respect to measurement, proper installation, cleaning or maintenance.
  • Shipping charges, cost of removal and reinstallation.

TO OBTAIN WARRANTY

  • Contact your original dealer (place of purchase) for warranty assistance.
  • If you are not the original owner, we may be able to provide you with repair parts and instructions free of charge. Visit our Parts Request form and submit your request to us or contact your local dealer for assistance. There will be costs associated with the repair. Visit our Dealer Locator to find an authorized dealer near you.
  • 3. Contact Hunter Douglas Inc. at 1-800-789-0331 (9:00 AM – 8:00 PM EST) for technical support, certain parts free of charge, for assistance in obtaining warranty service or for further explanation of our warranty.

Note: In no event shall Hunter Douglas or its licensed fabricators/distributors be liable or responsible for incidental or consequential damages or for any other indirect damage, loss, cost or expense. The Hunter Douglas Lifetime Limited Warranty is applicable for U.S. customers only. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above exclusion or limitation may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

Different warranty periods and terms apply for commercial products and applications.

O'Hair Warranty Instructions

The Homeowner’s Transferable Limited Warranty™ O’Hair Customs™ Interior Shutters

Validation:Homeowners must complete a brief questionnaire (7 questions) to validate the Homeowner’s Transferable Limited Warranty™ . The O’Hair Customs™ dealer from whom you received this information participates (via the questionnaire) in the Homeowner Rated™ program and is identified by displaying the “HR” emblem.

Defect Coverage:O’Hair Shutters, Ltd. will arrange, at no charge, for repair or replacement of components or panels installed by an authorized dealer for defects determined by O’Hair Shutters, Ltd. to be manufacturing defects in the original millwork of the unfinished interior shutter panels. In the event of a product design change, replacements may be made using a later design. Defects in the paint or stain finish (e.g. premature fading) may require refinishing that is chargeable to the homeowner on a pro-rata basis (see Limitations section below). Please note that a slight color shift due to sun exposure is conceded normal wear, not a defect.

Damage Coverage:O’Hair Shutters, Ltd. will supply, at no charge, unfinished, uninstalled components to repair shutters with wood damage* determined by O’Hair Shutters, Ltd. to be minor damage (e.g. from pets, children, and other sources). The cost of finishing and installation of repair components is determined by your O’Hair Customs™ dealer. In the event of a product design change, repairs may be made using components of a later design.
* Damage to the paint or stain finish (e.g. abrasions, slight dents, etc.) is not considered wood damage.

Limitations:Warranty coverage is limited to 10 years on paint finishes and 5 years on stain finishes. Should a finish fail prematurely, re-finishing costs will be charged on a pro-rata basis (e.g. if paint finish only lasts 7 years, O’Hair pays 3/10ths of re-finishing costs). This limited warranty does not cover shutters installed on exterior locations or commercial properties, nor does it cover normal wear typical to residential applications, nor does it cover panels that have been removed, modified, and/or reinstalled by anyone other than the original dealer or other O’Hair Customs™ dealer. This limited warranty is in lieu of all other obligations, liabilities or warranties implied or expressed. In no event shall O’Hair Shutters, Ltd. be liable or responsible for incidental or consequential damage, loss, cost, or expense, whether direct or indirect, resulting from product defects covered by this warranty.

Transfer:This limited warranty is transferable to each owner of the home where the panels were originally installed for the life of the home or the life of O’Hair Shutters, Ltd., whichever ends first. For warranty transfer, the previous owner must register the new owner at www.ohair.com or call 800-582-2625.

WHAT IS COVERED

The product is warranted against defects in materials or workmanship for the time period specified below, provided that the product was properly installed, the product was made or assembled exclusively from Springs Window Fashions’ materials and components, and all Springs Window Fashions’ recommendations were followed with regard to limitations and specifications. This warranty extends only to you as the original purchaser of the product.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED

  • Unfinished cornices, valances, or Palladian shelves
  • Normal wear and tear, including: Loss of color intensity, discoloration, fading, cracking, or yellowing caused by long exposure to direct sunlight» Slight color variation» Natural variations in color or grain of wood» Natural variations, cracking, splitting, twisting, bowing, shrinking, or stretching of organic material used in natural shades» Slight warpage of wood blinds or shutters; excessive warpage of wood blinds or shutters caused by moisture or high humidity» Exterior solar shades damage caused by inclement weather, windy conditions, coastal/salt conditions, pressure washing, or exposure to chemicals, including chlorine» Shutters damage caused by improper maintenance, including sanding, improper washing, and use of razor blades or sealants» Fabric damage caused by abuse, accidents, alterations, misuse, or failure to follow measuring/installation/use/cleaning maintenance instructions

WARRANTY OBLIGATIONS

The obligations of Springs Window Fashions are limited to the replacement or repair of parts or products found to be defective. If repairs are made under this warranty, the repairs will be made with like or similar parts. It is at the sole discretion of Springs Window Fashions to determine whether product will be replaced or repaired.

Springs Window Fashions is not responsible for shipping costs or labor costs, for measuring and taking the product down, or for remeasuring or reinstalling the product.

Springs Window Fashions may defer actions on any claim for warping for a period of up to twelve (12) months from the date of the claim in order to permit acclimating to humidity and temperature conditions.

Warranty coverage applies to defective product only. Other window coverings in the room/household will not be replaced.

THIS WARRANY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WRITTEN OR ORAL WARRANTIES OR OBLIGATIONS AND LIABILITIES. THE DURATION OF ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES FOR ANY PRODUCT IS LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE WARRANTY TERM APPLICABLE TO SUCH PRODUCT AS SET FORTH ABOVE.

SPRINGS WINDOW FASHIONS SHALL HAVE NO LIABILITY WHATSOEVER FOR INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental, punitive, or consequential damages, so this limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
